More About Daniel Phillips
Why Dan was the perfect choice as my co-founder
When I launched Web3Fundraising.com in the Spring of 2025, I didn’t just need a numbers guy. I needed someone who had seen firsthand what it takes to raise money for real causes, in real communities — someone who’s managed multi-million-dollar budgets and sold raffle tickets at the ballfield. That person is my closest brother and dear friend, Daniel Phillips.
A financial powerhouse with a coach’s heart
Dan is a financial powerhouse. He’s held top roles like Chief Financial Officer, Controller, and Director of Operations across both the public and private sectors — from elite institutions like Detroit Country Day School to entire school districts managing upwards of $69 million in funding. At Oakland Hills Country Club, he stepped in after a catastrophic clubhouse fire and helped lead the financial recovery and rebuild effort with sharp fiscal leadership and full board oversight.
He’s lived the fundraiser’s reality — and led the back office
Dan didn’t just attend music booster meetings — he chaired them. He didn’t just write policy for schools — he coached JV and Freshman baseball teams and worked hands-on with athletic departments to build new weight rooms, equipment rooms, and coaching suites. At one point, while running an entire $100-million budget at Detroit Country Day School, he was also the assistant coach for the JV baseball team and the lead fundraiser for athletic equipment. He knows what it feels like to try to equip a team while balancing school red tape, parent burnout, and rising costs.
From bond funds to band trips — Dan knows both sides
He’s helped districts automate broken systems, restore deteriorating buildings, and redirect unused funds into playgrounds, HVAC upgrades, and student amenities. In Oak Park, he helped guide the transformation of a neglected school infrastructure using $56 million in bond funds and pandemic recovery dollars. He oversaw projects like early childhood centers, school beautification, new gym floors, auditorium renovations — the stuff that matters to families on the ground.
And it doesn’t stop there. He’s saved districts millions by re-bidding services like insurance and copier contracts. He’s renegotiated vendor deals, supervised payrolls, set up entire accounting systems from scratch, and led clean audits across multiple organizations. At Parjana, he even built a company’s entire financial foundation from zero — from chart of accounts to HR policies to international shipping logistics.
Community-led, values-driven, systems-smart
“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care…” — John Maxwell
But what I love most about Dan? He shows up where the people are. Everybody knows and loves Dan because he cares for people.
He’s led Rotary golf committees. Helped gross $50,000 in a single day for a local education foundation. Sat on bond advocacy boards. Served as treasurer, VP, and fundraising coordinator across multiple neighborhoods, schools, and associations. He has always worked at the intersection of operations and relationships — which is exactly where next-generation fundraising has to live.
Dan brings a rare blend of system thinking, operational brilliance, and lived community experience to our work at Web3Fundraising.com. He understands the hard costs, but also the human costs — the burnout, the missed opportunities, the administrative and systemic frictions that kill momentum.
The bridge between the spreadsheet and the schoolyard
That’s why he’s not just a good fit. He’s the essential bridge between the finance layer and the field level — between the tech stack and the team huddled in the school cafeteria on a Tuesday night, trying to raise enough for jerseys or travel.
Together, we’re building something bigger than a platform. We’re rebuilding the culture of fundraising — with clarity, compassion, and tools that finally work for everyone.
Dan Phillips is how we do that right…
